Hi Paul, Never heard of you before yesterday. Saw your book 'Betrayal' in the new release section of my library and the jacket description looked interesting. I was not disappointed. I am looking forward to reading more of your work. I do have one comment. Twice in the book you mention the 'safety' being off on the Glock. Paul, Glocks have no safeties to flick off. In Ireland and England you can get away with that with your readers. Here in the USA quite a few civilians know about and even carry Glocks. I would be happy to advise you on any firearm matters for any of your future stories if you would like. Some of us pick right up on those little discrepancies. Again, I really enjoyed your book and clamor for more. Be well.

G'day Paul, just reading your excellent book "Ambush" right now. First book of yours I've read and enjoying it so far. However there is a typo on page 147 when Kennedy arrives at Bangkok. It reads, "...drone of a passing Quantas jet." That would be QANTAS, an acronym for Queensland And Northern Territory Aerial Services. Cheers, and I'll get back and finish it now, it's only 2:30am. :)Glynn

Am enjoying your books very much - bought some at Christmas '06 and '07 as presents for the family (one for myself of each at the same time) but somehow ended up giving those copies away too as presents. So went out once more and bought Scalpel followed by Cold Steel. Started reading and am now addicted at this point. Read Betrayal next and at present am almost finished Final Duty - Jack is still in Monterey and can't wait to get back to read on - and I have Ambush standing by. I particularly liked Scalpel and FD. You write very well and have a very nice touch for family and a way of introducing humour even when your hero is in dire straits.

Dear Dr. Carson,
I have just had the pleasure of discovering you this past week, when I picked up BETRAYAL. What a marvelous book! I'm right in the middle, and enjoying the scenes of life in the Outback as much as I am the thriller parts of the book. Thank you for such a well-written, well-plotted work---it delights me to know all of the Paul Carson novels still waiting for me when I finish this one!.

Hi Paul Finished Betrayal a while back and meant to write with compliments. Very good indeed, doctor with balls, uncaring manipulating officials of state, horrid criminals, double crossing, the whole bit! Damned good read and under "technical details" you did one very clever thing which some probably never noticed. But I did, being a bit obsessive-compulsive. Ryan wants a M-76 sniper rifle. Never heard of it but I assumed it was a new American military designation. Looked it up. And what did I find?? Modified AK, chambered for 7.92 mil and the real kicker--developed and used++ in Yugoslavia, especially Bosnia and Kosovo! So nice to see a writer putting in technical detail which is not essential to the story but for anyone who knows or is willing to check it out, it is there and it adds to the story. Well done sir! All the best for now Declan

Hi there Paul, I have just set a personal record in book reading.
I demolished Betrayal in about 3 days, something I dont think I have ever done as an adult (you can hardly count 30 page books when you are 7 years old)... I couldnt put it down, sadly to my detriment though because we have our new baby son home from hospital and I keep picking up the book when hes due to be fed at 12:30am and 4:30am in the morning when he is being fed! So Im a bit wrecked and blown away by the storyline, almost scary at times, if one was to watch the news on TV every day you would see that its probably not that far from the reality of life in Dublin these days, unfortunate to be saying that though. Anyway, i just wanted to say that I really enjoyed the book, my wife can finally read it now because i snatched it from her side of the bed the other night and was hooked from the first page! I really admire the ability and determination in book writing, its a testament to how we can use our brain if we try hard enough. Ill have to go and track down your other books now. Its safe to say that you have another (bleary eyed) fan... All the best and Happy New Year....

Am enjoying your books and am on second one now. However , the constant references to 'Sky News' and 'Sky Sports' give an impression of product placement and you would be perhaps better advised to replace these with more generic words such as TV News, Sports Channels etc, as they really jar in the text and kill the mood.

Regards

Phil.

good morning paul, stumbled across Ambush in my local library and could not put it down, excellent. One question, how did you come to use P&O Containers rather than a ficticious firm. in the 80s I worked for P&O and had a resposibility for P&OC in Dublin, it brought back happy memories.

Dear Paul carson, I've just finished reading your book %22Betrayal%22 which is the most gripping read I've had in ages--and I read quite a bit. It is the first of your books I've read but won't be the last. Congratulations on a fantastically constructed intelligent thriller. As it turns out I have a book chat segment on an Australia-wide radio station and will be giving the book a rave tomorrow morning. I don't normally write to authors like this but am now a big fan. Just a tiny sting in the tail of this--some constructive comment on a couple of tiny details re Australia. 1.An Australian wouldn't say %22a goanna lizard%22 just %22a goanna%22. 2.Young Australians speak in Kilometers not miles (%2250ks%22) 3.
